Inclusive Toileting Support
Step by Step Guide & Poster Pack
Empowering Children, Families & Schools

This step by step guide and poster pack is designed to help children with and without a diagnosis, their families and schools in progressing with toileting, with support. This pack provides practical strategies to overcome wee and poo accidents, move away from nappies and pull ups and create positive, stress free toileting experiences.

It aligns with the Healthy School Toilet Campaign, focusing on five key areas, helping children:
. Recognise, Understand and Respond to their body`s signals when they need the toilet
. Ensuring a consistent approach is shared between home and school

With simple visuals, clear guidance and support for children, this packs empowers families and schools to take the next steps toward toileting confidence.

When children feel uncomfortable or unsafe using the toilet, it impacts their physical health, emotional well-being resulting in toilet avoidance and affects their ability to concentrate and learn. Holding onto wees and poos can lead to accidents in the day or night, constipation and disruptions or dysregulated behaviours at school or home. These difficulties all take time away from valuable teaching and learning, and restricts positive childhood experiences.

With the Inclusive Toileting Support Pack , you`ll have the tools to create positive, inclusive toilet experiences for all children, regardless of a diagnosis, at school and at home.

Together, we can transform toileting experiences with simple step by step support.
